  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Monitoring service delivery support desk and assigning work to product leads as appropriate and keeping requesters informed of progress via pro-active updates. Writing and running of simple reports and providing support to the pension products. Collate and provide information to managers and colleagues to help inform decision making. Solve basic problems within agreed parameters.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have gained a variation in knowledge, skills and experience that are specific to this role. I have gained an understanding of SQL, Python, Orange and R programming languages whilst further developing my excel skills. I have also developed skills by cementing the basic knowledge and principles of data analysis tools and concepts.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enriched every minute of my programme. The Co-op have been extremely supportive throughout my time of my apprenticeship. They are very flexible and approachable, I feel confident to ask up for help and have a healthy relationship with my manager. The apprenticeship team also provide amazing support throughout the course.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I have found that the programme has been extremely organised. I have always been made aware of where I am up to and what I need to do. I have monthly catch-ups with my tutor from the apprenticeship provider to ensure that we are both happy with the progress being made. I can also message my tutor if I have any other questions. I also have regular catch ups with my manager to keep them updated about my progress too.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The co-op is extremely supportive of my apprenticeship. I get one day a week dedicated to just my apprenticeship work, however my manager is very understanding and if I require more time they also grant this. The apprenticeship team also provide great support and get set regular updates from them and are approachable to contact.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have regular catch ups with my learning and development coach to track and monitor progress. We also email it I have any questions and they come back also immediately. The learning platform that the apprenticeship provider have provided is extremely helpful and has lots of information on it, I can also message my tutor through this too.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have been able to pick up and delegate pieces of work that I wouldn’t have been able to do. I have developed and gained knowledge with new programming languages, we are also looking at implementing new programming languages and different ways to populate work using these, so it has provided a new business requirement that I am able to manage.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes definitely. There is a festival team where you can go and work at the big festivals in the pop up shops. There is also a gym which have regular classes which I like to attend. The work social life is good and there are always food outings and nights out.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The Co-op is an amazing employer to work for. The environment is a really nice, safe space to be a part of. The people are all lovely and extremely approachable. I have not had one bad experience since working at the co-op. I am confident that I want to stay with this employer.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Co-op?
  • I would give advice to do your research about the co-op as a whole and the industry that you are applying to go into. The website has some great articles that I would advise reading. I would also connect with as many people as possible, LinkedIn is a great place for this, people will be happy to talk to you!
