  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Stock Controller - Pick stock for drivers, deal with deliveries and collections. Recycling organisation and returns. Organise the waste we have come in through various different waste streams and make sure it is collected by the correct contractors.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During my course I developed a much greater awareness of my place in the company and how product moves along a supply chain. I developed a more full picture of how PHS operates in other depratments. I improved my time management skills with new techniques!

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the programme I was on for the majority of the time, as with all things there are the slightly more tedious (but essential) elements, but for the most part I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and enjoyed the accruement of knowledge via the course!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The course has an excellent structure, with a clear plan of progress. The course material was mostly online and easily accessible. Meetings were regularly scheduled and work was marked in a timely fashion.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received excellent support form PHS, during the course I would take one day a week to focus in on my studies and my manager would arrange for my job role to be covered. If I had any questions my manager would help me.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support from DBC was excellent, regular meetings both online and in person were scheduled and when I needed suppoprt on the few queries I had, answers were usually there quickly.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe the qualification I worked towards is a great tool for enhancing my skills and knowledge around my job, improving my knowledge of the supply chain at large and the impact issues can have on them.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At PHS we have internal communications that include an element of social media like content, and events are arranged virtually, however there is not much in terms of extra-curricuar activities that I have access to.

  • 9a. Would you recommend PHS Group to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • PHS is a large organisation, with good standing in the market place, it is not necessarily the best place one could find, but it is a stable income with clear objectives outlined for you to work to.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PHS Group?
  • You need ot be prepared to work hard, PHS looks for people who go above and beyond, and can take job satisfaction from knowing that you have done a job well. Be prepared to work in a team and take ownership when a situation demnds it!
