  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • An overview of my role is that I book in Electrical maintenance work for engineers across the UK. I complete permits and ensure the customer has all the correct documents beforehand. I also help other planners achieve their goals within their roles. Also help engineers earn bonus by booking weekend work in for them. I also need to ensure spreadsheets are kept up to date for reporting purposes.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed my programme a lot because I took a lot from it, met some new and different people with different personalities. If I get the opportunity to do another programme, I would. My tutor was outstanding and made me feel like I was her only learner which made me feel valued. This course also helped me with my mental health. It gave me something to focus on and when I realized I can do the work that is expected of me, it gave me a massive confidence boost.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was very organized and structured. I always had enough time allocated to me to complete each unit. They was clear before starting the course what was expected from us and how the course would play out. They were always looking for feedback to see if is any room for improvement for them.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There has been a lot of change in mangers and a high turn over in staff within the last year so I believe things didn't fall to plan. I had multiple managers throughout my course which I don't think was great because I had to keep explaining where I was up to and what I had to do. No manager got to see my progression fully from start to finish, that was interested.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I felt like I received a lot of support through my training provider. Felt like she went above and beyond for me. Always helpful and can really tell that she wanted me to succeed. Always provided me with more than enough information which contributed towards my qualification. Would work with the same training provider again.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification help me perform better in my role because it not helps me see things from a different perspective. I find myself putting myself in other peoples shoes when in a difficult situation. This way I can deal with it the best way and deal with it how I would want someone to deal with me in a difficult situation.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • In the past there has been no extra curricular activities. However, I think this has been noted and more effort is being made to ensure there are more things people can get involved with outside and inside of work. For example, we have a pumpkin carving competition going on through October. This is a great way for people to get to know each other and build better relationships in the office.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend the apprenticeship company to a friend because I would like to see people progress the way I have. I know people would enjoy it and would be beneficial for other company's if they are looking to expand their work force or make their work force more qualified.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PHS Group?
  • The best advice I would give is invest in yourself, it will be the best investment you ever make. Always but the time and effort into your work. Especially for preparations for presentations. If you're going to do it, make sure you do it properly and not half hearted. It will be worth it!
