  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme tied in extremely well to my role; I would learn new skills at an assessment day and be able to put them into practice straight away. The skills sessions were also a great place to discuss any barriers I was facing with other attendees/the tutor; enabling me to gain different viewpoints and new methods of problem solving. Although challenging, the course provided interesting and relevant learnings that has aided my performance as a leader.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very structured, clear infographics of the course journey and stages provided from the beginning. There is enough flexibility between modules to plan time for writing essays and independent research when it suits you.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Amazing level of support, my tutor Louise was phenomenal. Always available, really friendly and explained difficult modules in an easy to understand format. I learnt a lot through independent research, but an equal amount from my tutor! Cannot rate her highly enough. Lifetime as a whole have been brilliant with great communication; letting those involved know about my progress/next steps we need them to complete at EPA etc.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification will help me in every aspect of my role; leading people, financial management even through to effective time management. I have grown in confidence from completing the programme also as I now feel I have more tools in my toolbox to overcome any issues. Independent research has also made me more aware of the industry as a whole and I have a much wider reading list now!

  • 9a. Would you recommend Greene King to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The way they have looked after their team members through the pandemic is simply amazing. Financial support has been put in place and they even took the decision to pay those not actually eligible for furlough during the first lockdown 80% of their forecasted hours. As an employer, GK have created an amazing culture where a family feeling is at the heart of everything they do, with new values to support this. Career progression is readily available and clearly mapped out, with lots of additional personal and professional development available.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • Take the time to experience roles and tasks at all levels, always look after your team, have the drive to succeed in a dynamic environment and if you are ever unsure, just ask!
