I am required to open and close the oub safely as well as run shifts ensuring all staff are working properly. I deal with complaints, cash and stock management and health and safety of both the staff and the guests.
I have progressed from a new Team Leader to a trainee Assistant Manager, developing research skills at home as well as leadership skill and back of house, admin skills within work. Helping me understand how the company runs and the best ways to communicate with all members of the team.
I enjoyed all aspects of my programme. Although it was difficult at times due to the restrictions of the pandemic in place, I was given full support by my trainer and she made all aspects enjoyable.
Very good organisations throughout. I was given plenty of sources to help me with assignments and all linked together yo help me complete my modules. Even though some of the structure was broken due to lockdowns, isolations and restrictions I was constantly informed of any changes and myself and my tutor communicated to arrange best suited times for the both of us
I received a lot of support from my manager and assistant manager throughout my programme. Both assisted me whenever I needed to complete assignments which required me to learn more of the admin procedures.
My trainer provided me with as much support as I needed. When setting me assignments, whether verbal or written, she ensured I had the tools and knowledge to complete to the best of my ability and provided additional sources to use. She was also available when I emailed to ask for additional help or explanation.
My new qualification will help me progress to Assistant Manager as it has provided me with the skills I require in this role. Throughout my programme I had to learn about the admin procedures set by the company and perform task which are required my a higher role. Therefore giving me an insight into what is expected of me.
I am the charity organiser within the pub and so I was responsible for organising fund raising events such as a raffle to help raise money for macmillan. I am also the Christmas rep, and so I was required to organise Christmas in the pub. This involved securing bookings, placing orders as well as finding more opportunities to raise money. E.g. name the elf and design a bauble.
