  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The apprenticeship gave me a fantastic depth of knowledge of the financial industry. The mix of exams and coursework it is a dynamic learning experience which can work for everyone. By completing the apprenticeship I have gained valuable skills, knowledge and confidence. It has been an amazing experience.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have picked up multiple skills through out the course and developed existing skills further. I am a lot more confident in finance then I was before and it is evident in my everyday work as noted by my manager.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thought it was a really good way to further my financial knowledge while working and earning, I have picked up valuable information that I will take with me to further my career. I enjoyed that it was a mixture learning which made it a more inclusive environment.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the whole apprenticeship is very well structured with clear instructions and regular meeting with your tutor so you can always be sure on what you are supposed to be doing and set goals and realistic time frames.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Nationwide was supportive when it came to joining the apprenticeship. An area for improvement would be allowing more time to complete my work as I was supposed to be allowed 6 hours a week in work time however most weeks I would get no time.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received amazing support from the training provider including regular calls and updates. All the people who I have encountered from BPP and LIBF have been friendly and lovely to talk to.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have grown in my role taking on extra responsibilities and performing to a high standard when it comes to customer service and business.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not that I am aware of near me however In know of sports teams but they are too far away to join for me personally.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great place to work with great opportunities to better yourself in a good career. They are a fair and friendly company to work for.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nationwide?
  • Be open minded to doing an apprenticeship because although it is hard work it will allow you to gain a deeper understand of the banking and financial world and excel you in your career at Nationwide.
