  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy every second of the programme. I am a huge fan of the apprenticeship format and greatly value the balance of academic research and work-based experience. The masterclasses have been great to experience too as having veteran chefs impart their knowledge to me has been a privilege.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured very well, with enough time in between assignments to not feel a constant pressure or level of anxiety about not completing work. The lifetime coaches greatly help with the structure as they set the course based on your level and where you are at with work.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been exceptionally supportive, giving me all the support I need to complete my work and to continually improve as a chef. I have been challenged in a way which keeps me engaged in my job but doesn't push me too hard to the point that I feel demotivated.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have received so much support form Lifetime. There are times when my personal obligations prevent me from completing work on time and I am met with understanding and compassion. This has greatly helped to ease the pressure of being slightly behind on work.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification is majorly helping me as it puts me in a position to explore so much more of my job role than I would have from just working. It also means I get the academic knowledge behind my job which gives me a unique perspective and a much deeper understanding.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Absolutely, we are a very social workplace and we are a pillar in the community. This means we tend to have a very tight bond with the community as well as with each other. We organise quite a few team building exercises and team outings to keep that bond strong and help develop a high rapport.
