  • Creating and setting slips including the wordings, creating the Evidence of Covers and Loading the risks onto the system to allow them to be processed.

  • Developed in IT skills learning how to effectively use the systems as well as communication skills both within the company and outside of the company with networking events.

  • I definely enjoy the programme it has strongly helped with my confidence.

  • It is very well structured with regular meetings both within my teams as well as with my apprentice coach for the learning side.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I do recieve quite a lot of support, with the people within my team always being mindful if I have something to do with the apprentice/learning aspect whilst also giving me the ability and responsibility to work how they do.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I do recieve quite a lot of support with the workshops for each exam as well as the empower development as well as having the regular updates and chats so I know they are always there if I need them.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It allows me to understand everything more in depth as well as allowing me to network outside of the company better as I understand what their companies do.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am a part of the Netball team but there is also a football team, as well as regular networking events and talks at Lloyds that I attend.

  • Yes

  • As it is a very stable company and industry as well as getting a lot of support with everything.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Guy Carpenter?
  • Be yourself and do not think you have to fit into a mold to be within this company, ensure that you are talking to everyone and making connections as well as this will strongly help in this industry
