My role in the job is a Reinsurance technician. This means on a day to day I am Processing premium as well as claims.
I've developed personal skills as speaking to clients and people within the business is a key part of the job role. As well as this, since joining the company, my IT skills have greatly improved with me becoming a lot more comfortable with things like Excel.
Since joining the programme, I have really enjoyed myself, seeing both progression in my skills at work as well as in person.
My programme is extremely well structured with a great manager and a great plan that means we know what we are going to do and achieve along the whole way of our apprenticeship.
I receive a good amount of support from my employer with regular 1 to 1 sessions with my manager to see how I am getting on and what I can improve, and if I am enjoying the programme.
We have regular calls which give a clear plan of what I need to achieve and good strategies and plans on how I can achieve those goals.
My qualification helps me in everyday work as I cannot take what I have read in the books and apply that to the work I am doing. Secondly, the online courses that we do help with the more sociable side of work, teaching you that everyone is different and how to communicate accordingly.
There are many social activities and networking events to get involved in. Since being at the company I have been to several work dos. Apprentice nights out and different functions including other people within a similar industry.
