  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Day to day I have to stand in for the store manager when he’s away, running the store and completing legal checks and store checks

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme can be very hard mixing in with work, some weeks can be 45+ hours and mixing work family and learning means you can miss out on a lot of stuff.

    2/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • There isn’t a huge communication between the provider and the company, so often we have to plan around store events with our provider

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We get paid hours each week which is helpful, but you’re still expected to fill in management and undergo the huge tasks that come with that whilst learning

  • 9a. Would you recommend Co-op to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • It’s very hard to mix work and play. I’ve done numerous 45/50 hour weeks just to keep the store open whilst trying to do an apprenticeship there is no respite and it’s incredibly hard and requires a strong will

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Co-op?
  • Think about the spare time you have, think about the hours your store requires you to do and make sure you get some you time!
