I would communicate with the customers, help them make purchases and visual merchandise and process deliveries and stock, file accuracy and carry out department management, sizing and doing the standards on the front of house stock and processing customers parcels and keeping the back of house clean, clear, workable and manageable.
Throughout my apprenticeship, my confidence has developed greatly so much so that other people have commented on it. I have learned cash management skills, how to problem solve and deescalate situations and how to communicate affectively, how to visual merchandise, stock management and how to work affectively alone or as part of a team.
I enjoyed it because I got to develop my skills and communication and numeracy. I also got to work as part of a team and everyone was supportive of me and helpful and lovely and kind and I got to see how a business is run and how my role in the business affected day-to-day working.
I thought that the programme was very organised and the time frames given for assessments and homework were very reasonable and doable. I had plenty of support from both my advisor and mentor who were both very helpful and very patient and answered any and all questions that I always had.
During my apprenticeship at New Look Greenock, I felt very supported. I was welcomed from the first day as part of the team and not treated differently from any of the other team members, and when I had any questions, they were always happy to answer them for me.
My training provider was always only a text or email away if i had any questions or needed any help with the work she had given me. We had regular meetings over Microsoft Test to discuss my progress and we would set goals which she helped me achieve. She was always very supportive of me.
It set goals for me to achieve which developed my confidence and also my communication and numeracy skills and it taught me how to handle members of the public and how my participation as part of a team affects a larger goal. It also taught me how to be patient in the face of adversity.
There were not any extra curricular activities in New Look. However, we did run team incentives and competitions and these made the team work well together or as separate entities to work towards a larger outcome and we won prizes as a team or as a singular team member.
Yes
I would recommend a friend to New Look Greenock as I found the environment very comfortable. Everyone was friendly and very supportive of one another, everyone was willing to help and teach me anything I was not sure of and that I wanted to learn, it was very fun working at New Look.
When applying for the training scheme with Babbington at New Look Greenock, I would recommend that you be open to active learning and be able to voice concerns or questions that the customers may have and be able to handle external pressure and work effectively alone and as part of a team.
