  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job role is to review and improve a system that is used by Marsh to place and renew policies. On a day to day basis I find errors in the system and suggest ways to improve and fix them to the developers in order to make the system more efficient.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learnt how to spot issues and analyse things which have improved my observation and my analytical skills. I have also improved on my dceision making skills as I must decide on solutions to the issues and what the system should be changed to.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme as I get on well with other members in my team and they help me in my work and how to imrove what I am doing, they also help me with my DLS work. I alos like the company I work with as everyone is nice and helpful.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I have a meeting with DLS once a month meaning I have a month to complete each task. At the begining of the week I look at what work I have to be done and set aside a few hours to complete my DLS task. I spend three days a week in the office where my team works with me to teach me things

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I recieve a lot of support as my manager looks at my monthly DLS task with me and helps me with any questions that I may not understand or need a bit more support on. I can easily access support by messaging them in teams and they will go through my issue with me on a call.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I do a monthly call with my mentor from DLS who goes through my work and any improvements I need to make and then explains the next task I need to complete and how I am progressing towards the end point assessment. I can also email her with any questions and issues any time and I will always get a quick and helpful response.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think it teaches me more about business processes and helps me to understand how to work through things efficiently and alos how to organise my time ot ensure evreything is completed. I also think that it teaches me professionalism which improves my professional image.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there is a summer social coming up for the Manchester office in order to meet other people on other teams and what they do. There is also a business operations team walk coming up wchich is to raise money for charity.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Marsh McLennan to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would reccomend them because they are the top insurance brokers in the world and because as well as doing my apprenticeship they are also putting me through my insurance exams which improves my knowledge and provides me with more qualifications which gives me more oppertunities.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Marsh McLennan?
  • I would say that the training is quite intense as there is a lot to take in so to prepare to learn a lot and make notes and also to practice in areas that you are struggling with.
