  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis, I cleanse, transform and visual data to provide meaningful outputs for stakeholders. I catch up daily with my team to understand the priorities and then use a wide variety of software programs to develop solutions. I work continuously with my team to ensure the highest quality is demonstrated.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Over the course of the program, I have gone from no experience, to now being able to develop appropriate solutions on some of the biggest names in Britain and across the globe. Through a blend of apprenticeship and internal learning at EY, I have been able to develop my skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The program is constantly stretching and challenging my abilities which allows me to grow. The content in the apprenticeship is interesting and applies to my day to day job. The people who I collaborate with on a daily basis are knowledgeable and informative, which allows for great conversations and growth

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is structured well that allows us to develop a career as well as our education. There is a dedicated team at EY that allocates us the necessary time to complete our studies and provides a platform to raise issues and improvement points which is very beneficial to us.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The employer has provided great support and internal opportunities throughout the course of the apprenticeship. They recognize we are apprentices and don't have defined roles as a result of it. This allows us to explore areas of the business and settle into a role that is best suited to our skills and personal preference.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The apprenticeship provider assigns us a skills coach who we regular meet with to ensure we are hitting the expected criteria. There are also other various channels to get help with academic writing, research and general life skills. The feedback on our assignments could be stronger so that we can improve.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualifications allows us to take a break from our day to day roles and explore something that we may not have had visibility over previously. This fosters a creative outlook that allows us to bring new solutions to our team. It can be a challenge to manage both the apprenticeship and work simultaneously though

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are extra curricular activates. From sports to networks, there is a lot to involved in the various offices and at a national level. The EY Foundation also offers mentoring and internships to A-Level students which is always great to involved in. Overall EY has a strong amount of extra activities.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • EY has a culture that stretches the individuals knowledge and allows them to grow and develop their career. The various extra activities and excellent teams allow for a social aspect to the workplace which is unlike anything I have worked in previously. In summary, I would recommend EY to a friend


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • My advice would be to get involved in extra activities that would look good on your CV and show your willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge. I would research EY and what programs they offer and would use all resources available to inform yourself and make the best decision for you and your career.
