  • My role as a team leader is to lead a small team on a daily basis to achieve business goals which leads to increasing sales. I ensure that everyone follows business processes to ensure colleagues and customers are safe when shopping with us to create the best shopping experience.

  • I have developed skills including communication, teamwork and leadership. I have also developed behavioural skills which I have been able to demonstrate to my team.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme of the apprenticeship as it has put me out of my comfort zone to achieve new skills and help me work towards my goals that I wish to achieve within my workplace.

  • The programme is very well organised and structured. I feel comfortable with what I have to do and who to contact if I have any issues. My coach is very supportive and the workload is manageable alongside my job role.

  • I receive a lot of support and I am very happy with how much contact I receive on a weekly basis depending on what needs I have.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support when it comes to training and I benefit from the training from my provider as all of it is relevant to me in progressing further within the business

  • The qualification really helps me perform better in my role as most of the tasks given to me and the teams calls I attend really help my develop many skills which I am then able to show my team and become a better leader in my job role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are extra-curricular activities such as fund raising events that I am keen to get involved with which helps improve teamwork in my store. I also am keen to get involved with local causes to network potential ideas on how we can all get involved to help the community.

  • The business really looks after it staff and provides many networks to colleagues on progression and different opportunities

  • Co-op isn’t just a job, it is about supporting local communities and providing customers with the best shopping experience as well as supporting businesses around the world.
