  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job is a funeral arranger. I am a mobile arranger so I move around to the different branches, providing branch cover. This entails communicating with families to get an understanding on what type of funeral they require. I provide support throughout the process to families and will support them through the funeral arrangements and also through chapel visits. My day involves booking up funerals and ordering flowers, music, stationary. With being mobile I pick up funerals at different stages this can be right at the start, middle or after the funeral has taken place. My days are always different.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is a lot of community events that you are able to take part in, there were a lot more pre covid times. Pre covid there did used to be community events like coffee mornings or bereavement meetings for people who have recently lost a loved one. This was a great chance for people to meet other families who had been through similar experiences. I feel like all of these things are a great way to gain experience and further knowledge again.
