  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I’m a skilled op as a ground worker my job covered a lot of different areas such as concrete work, drainage, clean water and some times on sites and doing jobs for environment agency reinstating ground conditions near rivers and farmers fields.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since I started it didn’t really know much and now I feel confident in working with new people and understand a lot more what to expect on sites and what there asking me too do I can say yes I have learnt new skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Yes I have enjoyed it learning new thinks and being helped to understand thinks and I feel like I’m getting somewhere and developing a lot more each day step foot on site from the things I’ve learnt

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Yes I was good and the way they went through different jobs and learning me how to do thinks and teaching me how to do something correctly split everything up to help progress and understand easier

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Each day different and if I ever struggle or need anything there always there to support me and the other lads on site and supportive as I’m new and still learning each day

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • They have always been there supporting me and if I need any additional support they are all ways happy to pick up the phone and help me through and talk

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Yes and no advantage as they have been through everything telling me do the tasking and jobs but I feel with the lads on site is a lot more easier to learn than being in class room and submitting the evidence side

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not as I’m aware of they do offer discounts on app with a code not much but there are couple things we are able to have

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • These have helped me through my apprenticeship teaching me different skills and activities which you won’t be able learn on site but as I would rather be on site and learn hands on, I recommend lsp as they teach you step by step and help you


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Learning Skills Partnership?
  • Take in everything you learn as it is useful and helps with different things on site
