  • Managing a small-medium sized convenience store, including the colleagues employed within. Part of the role includes stock management, customer interaction and serving.

  • This past year, I have been working on personal growth and personal development, which has included working on my networking and communication skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme has felt stunted and hasn’t flowed as I would have expected, but this is predominantly down to the course being online with little to no personal interaction (due to COVID). This has meant that the course hasn’t felt as engaging as it could be.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Lay out of content is easy enough to navigate, however there have been quite a few issues with regards to flow of content. The departments within HART seem to be disorganised and don’t seem to work in sync.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Employer is excellent for support, giving 20% of scheduled week allowance to facilitate apprenticeship work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Have regular check-ins with tutor to ensure that the required work is being completed, with support along the way to ensure high quality of work submitted.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It is giving me the opportunity To consolidate What I am learning through the qualification. I am being able to strengthen my skills and broaden my knowledge of the wider retail sector.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are groups available to join, however due to COVID these groups have not been running.

  • It has provided me with employment for 16 years, with the opportunity for growth, development and progression.
