  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My daily role is client support, this is supporting client advisors on accounts, managing risks and completing insurance renewals. To start with it is very admin based to develop knowledge, but very soon you become in important role within all processes.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Significant skills I have developed are organisation (of time and documents), communication and networking. Knowledge of insurance develops very quickly, with lots of access to recourses to further your knowledge.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am thoroughly enjoying my course, my team are welcoming and have encouraged development. The company culture is very friendly and pushes for development of colleagues. It has exceeded my expectations and I cannot fault my programme.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well, with a given timeline from the first day/induction. There are many support networks from colleagues to coaches, and a range of recources.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The guidance I have been given is fantastic, from my manager and the recruitment team. I have always been provided with great advice that has supported my growth.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • During my first sesson the support was great, however there is little contact with my coach so I cannot comment fully on the extent of support I can/cannot get.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • There are lots of recourses for knowledge, so I have a better understanding of the insurance market

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many activities to get involved in, from volunteering, professional networks and just doing activities within a team. Currently it is all online, but hopefully there will be opportunities to do activities in person.

  • Yes

  • I have received amazing support, welcomed into the team with ease, not thrown in to the work but slowly gaining workload and have great flexibility in my position.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Marsh McLennan?
  • Do not pretend to be someone else, Marsh & McLennan have a strong view on personality. They want people to fit well within departments, so being yourself they are able to allocate you to the perfect team.
