  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I'm a candidate administrator working in the resourcing team. I work in the team focusing on Food Store recruitment - posting vacancies, screening candidates and arranging interviews, then making offers to candidates. I also manage phone calls and emails

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've developed my confidence a lot so far, and improved my writing skills. I've also developed my GDPR skills and awareness.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It's been a rocky start as we initially started with another provider who ended up not being very good and stopped providing our programme halfway through. Our new provider seems better. Overall I'm enjoying the units so far and finding them very interesting.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • So far, it's been a bit messy just due to the other programme provider and we've now changed to another. The structure seems to be fine, it's just hard to judge at the moment as we've moved recently.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Co-op has been absolutely amazing - My managers always make sure I've enough time to do my units, but also look for ways to provide experience in other areas of the business which might enrich my learning. The Co-op Apprenticeship teams have been incredible, checking in on everyone's progress.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As I've mentioned we have changed recently so it's hard to judge. Our new provider (Babington) seem better and I've had a few calls with my tutor who seems helpful but it is really hard to judge at the moment

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It's really helping to reinforce certain ideas in my role such as the importance of GDPR, and supporting my current work with the legal requirements that are involved in each area.

    8/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • The Co-op is amazing for social activities - they have loads of networking groups across the business, and run a lot of different activities throughout the month, such as raffles and fundraising bake sales

    10/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Co-op to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The Co-op is just a great place to work - the staff are incredible, its such a great culture to be a part of. Everyone is very supportive. The company also has great ethics and principles and does so much for the communities throughout the UK.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Co-op?
  • Make sure you apply to a job you're really passionate about, and look into all the great things that Co-op does. It's a great place for progression so if you want to move up, it's ideal
