  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Collecting and preparing deceased for funerals

    8/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Learnt plenty of new skills and developed some existing ones

    7/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Programme is quite easy however, access to IT at work and being given time to complete is an issue. Colleagues on the newer course are given time and meet up and this seems a useful development.

    6/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Programme is very easily structured however, some limitations of the job role would make it difficult to complete if the company wasn't big enough to enable those studying to try different roles

    8/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Not very much support is evident. Very little time is given for on the job training and IT systems to support it are not adequate. For example the tracking used is not compatible with the IT system so this means any work has to be done at home. Downloads and uploads are also an issue in work.

    3/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Training provider is reasonably supportive but there have been 3 changes of assessor since starting (last May) and this doesn't help the continuity or help build a relationship. My current assessor is based in Kent and my work is based in Cheshire, so only phone and e-mail are possible.

    4/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification gives a better insight into the role

    4/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not really, we do socialise outside work but there are no formal activities

    2/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Co-op to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The Coop is a large company and able to offer many career options in different settings for people who are able.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Co-op?
  • The application process is quite rigorous, so do homework on the company and it's values and be prepared to sell what you can do
