Learning and monitoring the production process; gaining an understanding of the production flow and how finished product is created. While undertaking small projects/ tasks designed to me by my area manager.
I have developed and built upon skills I brought into the business as well as leaning how to adapt my skillset to a new working environment. I have also attended many different training courses both internally and externally, as well as studying part time in college .
On the whole I have enjoyed my time so far at TATA, the apprenticeship structure is a little different to what I had expected, but the 10 months have mostly been an enjoyable time allowing me to settle in gradually and learn on the job
Within my department there is a relatively well structured plan for my progression and learning across the two years. Coupled with this the NVQ and HNC have been organised well.
Overall I am happy with the support I have had from my employer, Tata has made it extremely easy for us to work on all college related work while in department and has laid out a training plan/ manual for us to follow.
I attend College weekly and have monthly meetings regarding my NVQ, was a bit of a uncertainty at the start due to circumstances but things have improved and progress is being made
I feel the qualification will be highly beneficial to my work life and experience when I have completed them, already there are cross over aspects between college and work which have given me a deeper understanding and appreciation for tasks at hand.
Not that I'm aware of.
