Customer assistant - this involved restocking shelves, tidying the shop floor, assisting customers and serving customers on the till

My skills that developed during my work experience were communication, confidence and time management

I enjoyed the customer aspect of the work experience, as I enjoy helping others and ensuring all of their needs are met. However, the tasks I undertook were often dull and tedious, but it gave me an insight into working in a retail based environment

I felt very valued whilst I was completing my work experience, as all of my hard work was noticed and everyone was very welcoming

The programme was only a 1 week work experience, however each day I had a clear idea of what tasks I had to complete

It is clear the company cares about its employers, as from my experience they were very accommodating and appreciative of my work

Ensure that you are very customer-driven, as the focus of the company is the customers
