  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Business administration apprenticeship... During my apprenticeship I worked in Purchasing, Customer services, transport and production planning. This gave me a range of skills and knowledge.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have gained confidence when speaking to people within my company and customers. I have also learnt a range of computer/life skills whilst completing various courses. Experiencing different departments has help me to decide which fields of work I am more interested in.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed completing my apprenticeship, I have enjoyed learning new skills, meeting new people whilst at the same time earning money.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Egger?
  • In each department I have worked in I have been made to feel like one of the team. All managers and employees have treat me with respect. Since completing my apprenticeship I have completes a years traineeship specialising in transport and am now employed full time.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My Programme was well structured. I had an informative induction when I first started explaining the structures and values of Egger, this involved trips to the a sawmill, Egger forestry and a team building day. A plan was set out so I knew when I would be in each department, Each department had set tasks for apprentices to complete in the first few weeks to ease us into the job. I have completed several training courses at the same time as completing my NVQ in Business administration.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My training provider kept in contact via email and phone calls as well as visiting once a month. My training advisor helped support me through my NVQ.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My colleagues and managers were happy to provide me with help and support throughout my whole apprenticeship. Egger has a such a friendly environment, I don't feel nervous to ask for any support.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I am Still living at home so I don't really have many costs, Egger pays a good wage, higher than a lot of apprenticeships, which is allowing me to save for my future.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Egger have a sports and social club which offers employees the chance to part take in sports, cinema trips etc... Egger also offers you the chance to help support local community events and charities.

  • 9. Would you recommend Egger to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would and have recommended Egger to friends. I feel its a good alternative to university. I feel valued and feel I have a secure job with a good pay rate.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Egger?
  • Read up on the job/company and make sure its something you would definitely like to do. Have some confidence whilst in your interview and show your personality to the interviewers.
