  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In the first week my role to be a student and learn how to be a team leader. This involved listening to facilitators on a day to day basis and filling out learning logs for level 2 adult management qualification. On the second week my role was risk advisor and this involved making presentaions on things such as brexit implications to banks, nationwide and advising them on what they could do.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was organised very well. However in some parts it could be better such as spending 4 days filling out learning logs when they could have been filled out in two days. It was organised well though and informative and the inclusion of breaks was very well thought of and appreciated.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We received a large amount of support from our training provider. They invested a lot of time into us and made sure to explain things to us in great detail to ensure we understood everything. They were also very open to question and if they didn't know the answer they would organise meetings with those who more experienced.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A large amount of support. They were very friendly and understood that we were new and so were very open to questions. They welcomed us with open arms and were always checking to make sure that we were okay. They wanted what was best for us and it was clear that they wanted us to benefit from this experience.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Very well, it is a good salary however travel was very expensive. This of course is not the employers fault. The salary meets my cost very well. We recieved £6.80 an hour for 54 hours over the Easter holidays, and us sacrificing our holidays has a bigger reward.

  • Apply! Do research into EY and see what sector you would want to work in advisory/tax/tas/audit. Also look at what the service lines do and see at what you think your strengths would lie in. Be ready to learn and take on board what is being said to you whether it be the mentors or buddies from departments.
