  • overseeing the running of the home for best possible outcomes for the young person, audits, supervisions, multi agency working, working in partnership with parents, Weekly Returns, Budget Management, attending managers meeting and statutory meetings, Governance and compliance, chairing Weekly Team Meetings, Supervisions / Probations / Appraisals, Responsibility Monitoring, CPD for all, Referrals, statutory documents, Team development and mentor, Health and Safety, DSL, Medication Audits

  • Learned a lot more in relation to government legislation and how this impacts company policy and procedures

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I had a very supportive tutor, always on the end of the phone if I needed her and able to 'bounce off' ideas. The bud system was easy to use too.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Almost too structured, there were times that I could have gotten on with more work but had to wait to submit in relation to funding. In the remit there are less busy periods that could've counteracted the more busy busy periods.

  • My line manager and learning manager have been very supportive throughout and especially at EPA .

  • It has helped me to understand that I am good at my job and keep the imposter syndrome at bay.

  • As a managers group we have social get togethers once a month. Team building days for the team, games and interactive quizzes in team meetings. Professional speed networking in the local area

  • Yes

  • For the sense of achievement that you get from turning a child's life around, the support and benefits the company offers and the £500 bonus if a friend passes the 6 month probation


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Five Rivers Child Care?
  • That you have to understand that the remit is a lifestyle and not just a job.
