  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day to day role involves looking after young people with learning disabilities and supporting them with day to day tasks. I help them to get dressed for the day, make their meals and support them with any activities they would like to do, whilst also allowing them to keep their independence.

  • I’ve learnt many new skills, such as my time keeping skills. My job has allowed me to develop my social skills a lot too, due to working with new people. My communication skills have also developed massively as I have learnt many new ways to communicate with people in away which helps them.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • If I am honest I don’t really enjoy completing my programme, I find it very tedious and find myself not wanting to complete it. However I know it will benefit me in the long run which I can’t wait to finish, I find it can be boring sometimes.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I’d say the programme is well structured on paper, however waiting for tasks to be assigned can be very unorganised. I find myself waiting for work to be assigned for me to complete however the work that’s sat waiting for me to complete is well structured so I know what is next.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer provides a lot of support for me during my programme, I get set time during the month for completing my programme and if I need extra support and time I will receive it. They also will help me if I struggle with anything I know I just need to ask.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I don’t think the suppose from my provider is the best it could be, for example my tutor oftern takes a while to respond to me a lot of the time. However if I really needed some support I feel I could continuously try and contact her and I would eventually get through.
