  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I manage complicated cases for customers, overseeing the cases and keeping the customer updated throughout the process as well as on completion. It's an end to end journey based on improving relationships with customers through great customer support. We deal with both online banking and the bank mandate journey

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have worked on and developed a range of skills which help me with my role, I have developed my empathy for customers in hearing about their difficult situation so I can cushion the information that they have just shared with me as well as then supporting them with process

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my program as it gave me the opportunity that without being an apprentice I would have been under qualified with my previous experience. By being an apprentice I have been able to learn on the job and develop my skills, to then put this into practice supporting customers

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My program seemed very organized to start with as I had regular catch ups with my apprenticeship coach however, she had a planned operation which is where the regular contact seemed to stop and created a period where I have felt i didn't have anyone to reach out to for support in a timely manner

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been very supportive in giving me enough time to always complete my apprenticeship work on time to remain on track. NatWest also help to ensure that I have the required examples needed to evidence my work by pulling this evidence for me to ensure I have the best opportunity possible to achieve a good grade from my course.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider always are able to provide me with support however, due to the periods where I have not had an apprenticeship coach it has felt as though the program has dragged on due to not having a direct point of contact that can review my work within a timely manner.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I don't feel that the qualification really aids my ability to do my job role, as all my learning has been on the job training the apprenticeship is more of confirming what I already know. I don't really see this as a benefit to my performance within my job role but, just a qualification to show for it at the end of the course.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Through NatWest I have been able to get involved in the community through our community days that we can use, this has seen me go into local schools and colleges to get involved and support with delivering their projects from a different perspective to their teachers. It is great opportunity to give back to the local community.

  • I would advise anyone considering applying to just do it whether you think you have the required experiences needed or not, I came into NatWest from a completely different background but because, they liked me as a person and how I carried myself I got the job.
