  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I take Inbound call and book car rentalsfor our customers. I chase customers that have booked with us, but their booking is not complete, due to technical reasons. I also dial out and chase leads (custoners that have expressed an interest of renting a car with us by make a quote online).

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned in a much more in-depth manner how to manage communications with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders. I have also learned how to better organise may tasks and how to prioritize them. As a sales advisor, product and market knowledge is very important, but this knowledge need to be supported by god soft skills as well, to make sure good service can be provided.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The apprenticesdhip programme covers topics I am very interested in and it allows me to hone the skills I need the most. I am able to apply what I learn directly to my daily tasks and this makes it even more engaging. Occasionally, in event of setbacks, I also have the chance to slow the pace and get more flexibility with my duties, which helps alleviate the stress that can come up while studying.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I have been given an overview of the whole progrmme from day 1. I have discussed with my tutor why it is structured the way it is and made relevant changes, where necessary, The program is very flexible and it is easy to keep track of your progress. In case of difficulties, your tutor will extend deadlines or make you study the subject that is most relevant to you at any given time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am provided with the right amount of time to carry out any off-the-job tasks or studies. I have also been provided with licences for software that I need to use (Microsoft Office, Adobe). Our learning department will also support, with relevant material and I have access to online learning platforms that make it easy to access useful courses.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The provider offers a personal area, where you can find all the assignements and supporting documents you need for the training. You can access the platform from anmywhere and on any device. Every tasks is introduced and explained by the tutor, who is always thourough and clrear. In case I needed further support, my tutor is always there to provide support and I have multiple ways of contacting him/jer: email, online platform, phone number and even chat apps like WhatsApp.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Although my role is a very specific one, the provider still managed to offer material and courses which are not only relevant to the Sales National Standards- these are also relevant to my core tasks. Thanks to this qualification, I had the chance to improve my sales expertise, but I have also honed my soft skills, which are as important if the sector-related specific skills.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • My employer provides a yearly budget to use towards team activities and we regurarly use it towards team-buidling and professional networking events. We also have vhe opportunity to join a wide variety of workshops, to support our personal and professional growth. You can enroll on presentations skills workshops, or on Resilience and time management skills ones. There even are workshops where they teach you how to wriote a proper CV/Cover letter, to support your career growth inside, or outside the business.

  • Yes

  • This emnployer offers many possibilities for professional growth, with a competitive remuneration and benefit scheme. Most importantly, the company nurture the culture of getting thinks done the proper way and succeeding together is one of their main pillar, when it comes to how they get things done. They also communicate in a clear way and treat both customers and employees in a fair way.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Booking.com?
  • Booking.com does not look and your qualifications or diplomas, as much as they look at your attitude, and your enthusiasm to learn more and get better with every opportunity. If you want to succeed in this fast-paced environment, you need to make sure can work in a team efficiently and you are able to own your tasks responibily and constantly. The atmosphere is supportive, but you need to be able to on top of things every single day.
