  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Helping customers to book their worldwide car hire, giving a consultative, tailored solution to meet their travel needs. Handling customer objections positively and spotting opportunities to turn dissatisfied customers into happy customers. Looking for ways to upsell to enhance the customer experience and increase revenue. Most importantly, putting customers at the heart of everything I do.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, during my apprenticeship and when completing my essays and presentations, I have improved my sales performance and developed existing skills. By doing this apprenticeship I gathered more knowledge about communication, Teamwork, problem solving, Leadership... and I have learned some new aspects of these skills that help me on a daily basis.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I think the programme is very useful and interesting. Just the fact that I have the opportunity to earn a salary and learn at the same time is amazing. Also at the end of the programme the goal is to get a nationally recognized qualification that allows me to succeed in my career.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The company is very flexible for me to complete the apprenticeship and they support me with the time I need to finish my assessments on time. My manager is always willing to help and I feel very supported. In my regular meetings I have the opportunity to ask any questions regarding the apprenticeship and to get feedback from my manager.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have monthly meetings with my tutor to check that I have done all the required work and to ask for support in the areas that I need help. My tutor is always willing to help and If I need extra support I can contact her by phone or email too.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At my company they encourage employees to get involved in sports, the music group, volunteering and other activities because it is also a great way to meet new people, enjoy your time after work and ensure you strike a healthy balance between working and your social life. Since working from home some of these activities have stopped.

  • To have a real passion for making customers feel special. To be target driven, competitive and money hungry. To be motivated as that’ll help you deal with some tricky customer problems. To take ownership of your work and to be resilient, organized and committed. It is a nice place to work if you like different cultures, nationalities and languages.
