I am currently learning how to design kitchens and sell them to customers. My job involves going out into customers homes and measuring for their new kitchen. I also present the final designs to the customers in depot and show them the products they have in their kitchen.
I have learnt how to deal with all types of customers whether it is in person or via email/telephone. I developed my CAD software skills and used them to make the best possible kitchens for my customers. I have also learnt how to use the Howdens quoting system to price up our products that customers want to purchase.
I really enjoy my job because I am designing kitchens for customers as well as getting to know them along the way. I love seeing the end results of my kitchen designs, it may not be often but I when I do see the final design I am amazed by how well I did.
My apprenticeship programme is quite organised because my tutor comes out once a month and is available when I have any questions. I do struggle to find time to do my apprenticeship work because I am working full time. I am out measuring and designing in between my collegework.
I receive a lot of support from my employer and the team I work with are always happy to help.
I receive a lot of support by my training provider. My tutor comes out once a month to help me submit the work for my apprenticeship. I can contact my tutor when needed.
My qualification is relevant to my job role so it does help me perform better in my role. I feel like the paperwork side of the qualification could be worded better as it can be confusing but this does not effect my role.
Howdens have many activities throughout the year including go karting, rounders and dragon boat racing. There is many opportunities to get involved with other depots and members of staff.
Yes
Because they are an excellent company to work for and their products and services are of high quality. They are in an in-stock business and this is great for customers who want to order something straight away.
I would advise them to definitely get on board. They are an excellent company to work for and there are so many perks to working for them.
