  • In my role, I maintain good working relationships with my customers by speaking to them on the phone, serving them on the counter and emailing them. In my job role, I create quotes & sales and assist my customers in any matter. I also deal with daily paperwork reports.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed lots of new skills, I have learnt about how the company works, my product knowledge has increased greatly and I have gained confidence.

  • I really enjoy the apprenticeship programme I am in.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well structured and I have my assessor who visits me roughly once a month and sets me my apprenticeship work and goes through it with me.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a massive amount of support from my employer, they encourage me to help serve on the counter, they give me enough time to do my apprenticeship work and offer help when I need it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support from Didac when working towards my qualification, they offer help via email if I am struggling with a question. They go through the work with me when we meet face to face and the learning systems are also very helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps me perform better in my role because it is based on customer service and I can use those skills learnt in my module to good use in my working role. I also have gained a good understanding on GDPR and Health & Safety.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of extra-curricular activities that I can take part in as an apprentice, we go on team building exercises as a depot and there are also go karting days, a rounders game that as a company we can get involved in.

  • Yes

  • I would definitely recommend Howdens to a friend because they are a great company to work for and have a great mission statement, core values and brand promise. The way they treat their staff is also fantastic.

  • Just be yourself!
