  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a GM, I need to oversee all the aspect of the business. Drink order, stock counts, rotas, review response, social medias, bookings, Health and Safety procedures. I do delegate to my leadership team but I always need to keep an eye as, ultimately, I am responsible for all the tasks above.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned a lot through this apprenticeship, especially during the transaction time from Assistant Manager to General Manager. Couching and learning style have been a massive help, along with how to give feedback efficiently to people. Time management and how to execute an efficient plan are playing a key role in my day to day work

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed learning new things during my apprenticeship, especially thanks to the support of my tutor who actually used to be a general manager himself with a lot of experience. Having to talk to him not just about the apprenticeship itself, but about the challenges that I was facing at work was a great relief and a pleasure.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I didn't really enjoyed the platform I was using during the programme. It was not user friendly at all, having to download the activities and then resubmit them again and again was really painful. I have been told by my tutor that I was one of the last to use this website, and since then it has been improved to give a more user friendly experience

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Not much to be honest. I was paid for the workshop trainings and the face to face meeting with my tutor, but my previous General Manager never really supported me in giving me some paid time to complete exercises and activities. I ended up completing most of the "homework" during lockdown or my free time.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My first 2 trainers were not really supportive. They would take ages to reply to my emails and they were missing appointment and not really engaging me to complete the programme. My last trainer was completely different. He re ignite the passion for the programme and he kept pushing me not just to complete the programme, but to make sure I would pass with great score. I will give 10/10 only for [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], he is a star
