  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy this programme. It has taught me a lot about effective management and more surprisingly a lot about myself and the way that as an assistant manager the way we hold ourselves and portray ourselves can impact on our peers the team and the business. There are some areas i thought i was very good at but can see that within them there is areas in where i can improve.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The course is structured really well. You are kept well informed with courses and what work is required and expected of you. The only downside i would say is that i was put on a South west course and am based in the southeast and there are currently two other courses closer to ne with easier access.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • It really varies. My Manager has always made sure i have the time off to attend courses but does not/will not allow me to use my schedule to complete my work. The support from my BDM has been very good. I think overall the support has been good but business needs have affected the ability to keep up to date.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support from Lifetime Training has been very good. They always make themselves available and work around me as the learner. An example of this is that i was unable to attend a training course recently and within the day I was offered a place on the same module with a different cohort

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Really well. As mentioned earlier i feel that i have learnt a lot about management styles and myself as a person. I feel that the course enables you to develop relationships with the team and to have a better understanding of the team and their behaviours. This programme definitely gives you the tools and knowledge to become a better manager

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Very rarely. It is something that we as a management team are aware of and would like to improve. At the moment we do a social once a year. We are introducing socials as a way to incentivise the team to excel in key areas such as reputation score and Mystery diners!

  • 9a. Would you recommend Greene King to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I believe Greene King see their people as a real asset and a person rather than just a number. Opportunities are available for everyone. The company values are lived and shared by all the senior managers. The support the company offered through lockdown etc was exceptional and this has continued since reopeming

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • I would tell them to go for it. To make sure they take all the opportunities that the company has to offer. Especially to make use of all of the training and development that are available. I would encourage them to have high aspirations as you have the opportunity to really go as far as you like in the company
