  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a team leader, if I do a morning shift, I would be in charge of opening the pub, getting everything and everyone ready and making sure everything goes smoothly. Closing shifts are the same target of making sure everything is fine but it also getting everything in order, clean and close the place properly, making sure it is good to go for the next day.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Lifetine training helped me focused on my job, understand all the different apsects of it and get more involved in management things. I am now able to really support my manager and assistant manager.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My trainer was really nice and helping. It was a very good training with focused task and regular reviews, while still leaving me room to work and have a life. It was not too much time consuming but still giving me things to do and learn.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well, even through the lockdown and these weird restriction they always manage to keep going, and to help me learn and progress. My trainer was very good at orienting me in the right direction when I was unsure and he was always able to answer my questions

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot. My manager was very accomodating, leaving me room to do the jobs I needed to do, she was very transparent with me about what she was doing to help learn, she was showing me everything I asked and gave me the shifts I needed to complete my trainings.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As I stated in a previous question, a lot. I was really pleased by my trainer, whom was very helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I do feel more confident in my day to day job, and I am very happy with the extra responsabilities that I am now able to take because of the training.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We do have some staff parties now and then, but my place of work being open every day, it is hard to find time to get real get together.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great company, they do care about they employee. I am really grateful about how they dealt with the whole covid-19 and lockdown things.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • Be eager to work, be yourself. Never be afraid to step up and try to learn everyday
