  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is a Unit Manager with a Unit of appx 60 handlers and 5 Leaders. I work in motor claims operations and manage various tasks day to day with the main responsibility of managing our phone SLA for our customer.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Although my course started last year, I have only completed 2 modules due to the challenges aspects of my role but the sections have allowed me with focus and develop further in existing skills and bring these back to life with my current role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme as it challenges me, it's quick stretching and really take me out of my comfort zone.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It's well organised and the structured, my Coach is always on hand should I need her which is great if I am unsure of anything.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employers are extremely supportive however my role doesn't always allow me to take the time I would like but this is my choice in putting my role first.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a lot of support, she is always on hand via email/phone to ask questions if I am unsure whilst working through my coursework and we meet regularly face to face.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I can really relate to the subjects which I deal with on a day to day basis. The course is ideal for those working in an operational role and can really help with development and being a better Leader/Manager.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there is plenty of extra-curricular activities to get involved and also to blog on our Yammer group.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a good company to work for, it's friendly, stable and everyone looks out for you. There is lots of support if needed and you are able to progress if you are career driven.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSA Insurance Ltd?
  • To ensure you read up on the company - it has some great history and it's worth while knowing this before you apply to see the type of company and its morals and beliefs.
