  • I sign in book a desk then I look at my emails see if I have had any email from my client or contractors or team and if respond accordingly this could be creating an engineering request uploading document for client / contractor raising payment claims for contractor raising PO for clients

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt communication skills as I have been speaking to contractors and I have to make sure that they deliver what the client wants have developed my knowledge of technology and software and gained more knowledge of the industry and calculation at University. have developed skill of organisation and timekeeping as I have to meet deadlines .

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • it is very good does not feel like I am working a full time job as the university helps break it up as the community at transport for london is very welcoming have been to many socials with team and other apprentices. the work is also very engaging you get to do what interests you

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • there was a change over in who organised our apprenticeship and I stared off in a team that did not have much for me to do but fortunately within the first week I was change to a different placement where there was more work for me to do which has benefited me

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • if ever I have a problem there is always someone that I can speak to if it that is my line manager placement managers members of the team that I am in my mentor my apprentice organiser my buddy and also the other apprentices that are on the same course as me

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • one of the three teachers that we have is not very good but I have complained and actions have been taken and he has been improving the other 2 teachers are very good and you can email them any time and they will respond quite quickly there are also clubs set up to help people

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • it helps so much as you are able to apply what you learn to the job your are able to speak about new technologies coming through that other people might not necessary know about it helps put things in prospective you also get to see how you work effect other things

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have been to many socials with my team and apprentices I know that there are some sport clubs that run but I am not apart of any of them I have been to many professional events where I get to learn more about the company and their values and projects

  • 9a. Would you recommend Transport for London to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • its a great place to work everyone is friendly the work is consistent but not too much that it becomes stress full and you fell like you are get overwhelmed the pay is also very good which is a huge bonus there is also always someone you can speak to if you need any help


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Transport for London?
  • try your hardest to get in it is better than going university as you get experience and the qualification which is more important than going to a university with more reputation try to show that you are active and think differently and that you are open to different ideas and people
