As an apprentice, you will also have access to support and guidance from the Scheme Mental Health, a mental health and wellbeing support group dedicated to graduates and apprentices, run by graduate and apprentice volunteers who want to help support their peers during their time in the scheme.
The Schemes Mental Health hosts numerous events, such as wellbeing webinars, informal coffee meet-ups, wellbeing walks and much more!
Things to know before applying for an apprenticeship with TfL:
- You can only apply for one apprenticeship scheme per year. So, make sure you have done your research and you know which apprenticeship you would like to apply for.
- Please check the age restriction for the apprenticeship you are interested in applying for. For many of the roles, you must be 18 years old. However, there are some of the roles where you may be 16 years old. There is no upper age limit.
- The majority of our schemes require a minimum of 2 or more GCSEs for an applicant to be eligible. However, some of our schemes have no formal entry requirements at all!
- Where qualifications are required, applicants can still be studying towards these, so long as they meet the entry requirements by the start date.
- You must have the Right to Work in the UK for the duration of your apprenticeship and have lived in the UK/EEA for the past 3 years.
Extra Support
We’re a Disability Confident employer, and we offer guaranteed interviews to candidates who apply via the scheme where the minimum criteria for skills, knowledge and experience have been met.
In high-volume campaigns, the minimum criteria we set is achieving a pass mark in our first stage assessments, adopting a proportionate approach as part of the Disability Confident scheme.
Examples of the support that we can offer include additional time for candidates completing online assessments, alternative online assessments for candidates who are neurodivergent, additional time etc.
