  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a KPMG360 apprentice. We do 6 month placements in different areas of the business and rotate around. After 2 years, we decide which area we want to specialise in and KPMG helps us to qualify in that area. I am currently in Public Sector Audit so I get to go to hospitals and schools and find out how their finances are working and check everything is up to standard. I get to work in a different place every week and meet lots of new people. It is so much fun and I really love it. Wish I had found out about it sooner.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • In a UK sense I think the organisation of the KPMG360 is really well structured and organised. I am one of the first apprentices to work in my office in Nottingham so there have been a few hurdles in terms of n-office co-ordination but the programme as a whole is very well put together.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I feel like I have a really supportive relationship with my Performance Manager who I regularly talk to about my progress and any questions/worries that I have. I am also supported by my Resource Manager who takes in mind where I want to go in the future and helps to orchestrate that.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are lots of opportunities to get involved at KPMG. I joined in October and I am already a part of the Social Committee and organising my first solo event. I am involved in the Back to School Programme and am hoping to become the Midlands representative for my peer group.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I love working here.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • Be yourself. I don't think I got the job because I said the right things in my interview. I think that I got the job because they liked me and thought I would make a good addition to the KPMG family.
