  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Software Developer - I work within a development team to help deliver value to internal software. This means following Agile and Agile meetings. This also means I get to shadow experienced developers and work on my own small development projects which will grow with time, along with my experience. I'm also given my own responsibilities to take care of which include development but many other things linked to that.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt plenty of new skills and also improved my existing ones! Coming to Schroders has been helpful as I can now be at a high industry standard with advice and mentoring from developers. Schroders have also helped me gain the needed qualifications to make me more employable in the outside world. They've also provided with so much training just related to business and how Schroders operate so I can understand the industry. I have learnt how to program to professional standard(and still learning!) and also how to act in the workplace. I've also been encouraged to learn many new programming languages and improve my knowledge of what I already know!

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love the job I do, apprenticeships have made it possible for me to enter the industry at this level. My team are very supportive and also fun to work with, they always make sure that I am involved and learning! Schroders have also been supportive as they often make sure I am well looked after and their culture very much fits my work style of casual professionalism. When I joined Schroders they went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. I have really enjoyed my experience so far and can't wait for what the future holds.
