I work in IoC, so my day to day involves monitoring mainframe systems and ensuring everything is working correctly - this includes legacy systems that can affect customers work.
I have further improved my programming skills as part of our corporate skills training, where we are taught a few programming languages and how to navigate through Linux.
I thoroughly enjoy my working program, I am always busy and there is never a dull moment - the training is constantly flowing my way and I feel I have developed very well in my last 6 months.
I feel very valued by JP, I have met so many senior people in the company and they all tell us how well we are progressing and how much we have progressed in our learning and within our team roles.
Our program is in its first year, so there have been some minor hiccups but any problems that we have had throughout the program have been addressed quickly and professionally by Phill and his team, issues never go unanswered and problems are always resolved quickly.
We receive a lot of support from our training provider, any email communication we have with BPP is responded to within the same day it was sent (unless we are in a period where the university is closed) and we always have an open line with the curriculum manager.
Our employer provide us with amazing support, we are never alone if we have an issue and the issues are always resolved within the day they arise - we always have a line of support regardless of what or who the issue is with.
My salary allows me to pay all of the bills that I have, however I live with my partner so it is not easy to say whether I would be able to live to the means I do now on the salary I am paid.
JP host hundreds of events, there are so many sporting communities, and just different activities going on. Recently we hosted a burns night, over Christmas we volunteered to pack Christmas presents for unprivileged children. There is always something going on at JP!
Yes
JP is a great place to work, there are so many activities, so much support and so many options for progression. There are 4000 people working in Bournemouth for JP, and there are around 2000 different job roles.
Just be yourself! The application process seems long and scary but it is all about you, how you act, how well you would fit in with the companies culture. Our hiring process is supposed to be fun, so try to enjoy yourself!
