1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in Oversight and Control within a team of 9 people. My job title is Clerical Associate. My role can vary from day to day. I have the chance to work on a number of interesting, enjoyable and challenging projects. I find this a great way to stay engaged, lean new skills and network with different people with each varying project.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have been studying for the CISI ICO Certificate in Introduction to Securities and Investments. This has been very relevant to my role and has helped me immensely. I have also developed skills in excel and learned a lot from my team and people that sit around me.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I highly enjoy my program. I have integrated well with my team at work and with the other apprentices on my program. The whole experience has exceeded my expectations both for the value of it and in regards to how much I have truly enjoyed it.

4. How valued do you feel by J.P. Morgan?

I feel very valued by JP Morgan I am treated the same as any other employee and looked upon as an adult. I also feel that I get recognition from manager and wider team.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The program is very well structured. We have a designated Study day on a Wednesday which we are able to use purely to revise. We are also offered support from the schools team within the firm who we see and speak to regally.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

BPP are our training provider and whilst we receive well explain live lectures on a regular basis there has been some mistakes in the practice questions they have provided. However this in no way should reflect badly on JP Morgan schools team/ apprentice program who have taken this matter in hand and dealt quickly and appropriately.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a great amount of support from my employer. My manager has been great in helping me intergrade into the team and even helping me with my study, explaining points I was unsure on and giving me extra time to revise for my exam during the working day.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

My salary meets my cost well and is a very good apprentice salary. However I do still live at home with my family and so my expenses are low and thus I am unable to comment on if it would meet my coast if I was to live on my own.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

There are a vast amount of opportunities outside of work. The apprentice program is always running events including rock climbing and zip lining. We have also had events with the other programs operating in the firm including the graduate program. Additionally there is a large number of social and sports groups that you are able to get involved in; for example I have recently joined up to a badminton club with in the firm.

9a. Would you recommend J.P. Morgan to a friend? *

9b. Why? *

I have learned a large amount and feel that it has given me the great experience and start in life to have a successful and established career.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to J.P. Morgan? *

I would tell future applicants not to stress over the different stages of the application process. An assessment centers and interviews can be daunting for young adults and teenagers however the schools team do very well to calm applicants and make it a relaxed environment.
