Embedded Electronics System and Design Degree Apprenticeship
Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) is looking to grow its future technical specialists. We have an opportunity for someone to join us as a degree apprentice at our Porton Down site, Salisbury - a great place to work.
As an Embedded Electronics System Design Engineer apprentice you will get to work on real life projects alongside your learning. As part of your programme you will learn:
- Electrical circuit theory
- Electrical theory and principals
- Electronic components
- Design of functional electronic systems and circuits from component level
- Health and Safety; Oral and written communications
- Structured software programming for embedded software, including testing methodology
Minimum age is 18
You will need to hold five A*-C Grade GCSEs or equivalent, including English & Maths, A-Level standard, or equivalent, in Mathematics and at least one further STEM based subject, such as Physics, ICT, Computing or Electronics.
The security of our work means that only UK nationals who have also resided in the UK for the last five years (10 years for certain roles) can be considered. All Dstl positions require full UK Security Clearance. Unfortunately dual nationals are not eligible.

This apprenticeship is on a 4 year fixed term basis and starting salary is £20,500
