  • I assist clients with planning and coordinating their travel. In order to make their trip pleasant and hassle-free, this entails acquiring crucial information from clients, such as their budget, travel dates, general preferences, and other specifics. I am in charge of daily research to find the most affordable hotels, flights, and other activities for the client. Additionally, I'm constantly exploring for more advantageous and affordable travel options. Other daily duties include getting in touch with suppliers to make sure the travel arrangements proceed as planned, keeping track of payments, and assisting clients with any concerns or problems related to their trip.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Through my role as a travel planner, I have developed and strengthened a variety of skills that are essential in the industry. My research and organizational skills have improved, as I now have to sift through vast amounts of information to help my customers get the most out of their travels. My communication skills have also improved as I have become more adept at negotiating the best deals with providers.

  • I thoroughly enjoy my programme. Helping people plan their dream trips is incredibly rewarding. I am able to use my creativity and organizational skills to provide my customers with the best possible deals and experiences. As the travel and tourism industry is always changing, I am continuously learning new things and staying up to date with new trends and rules. This keeps my job interesting and allows me to flex my problem-solving muscles to solve any issues my clients might have. I take great pride in providing a personalised and helpful service so that the people I serve can have the best trip possible.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is highly organised and structured. I always begin my day with a plan for the tasks ahead so that I can provide the best service possible. I use digital tools to keep on top of all the necessary information, and I have detailed notes for each client that I work with. I frequently check in with customers so that I can adjust their travel plans as necessary, and I am easily able to access all the information I need from any of my devices. My programme is organised in such a way that I am able to work efficiently and provide timely, personalised service to my customers.

  • My employer provides great support to all of their employees, and this has been especially true for me. Due to the constantly changing nature of the industry, there is always new information, rules, and regulations to learn, and my employer is always willing to help me keep up to date. My employer is also great at providing feedback on my work, and they always encourage me to keep getting better and better. The level of support I receive from my employer allows me to provide the highest quality of service to my clients.

  • My training provider has given me a tonne of assistance. They gave me all the materials and tools I need to succeed when I initially started my travel planning course, including textbooks, handouts, and online modules. They are always eager to help me get back on track and comprehend the subject matter whenever I have a concern. They have also introduced me to professionals in the field, pointed me in the direction of helpful resources, and given me advise and direction all during my programme.

  • My qualification through my training provider has undoubtedly been instrumental in helping me perform better in my role. It has given me a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of the travel industry. I am familiar with all the rules and regulations regarding travel to different countries, types of visas, different types of transport, and other important details.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At my work, there is a constant stream of social activities to get involved in. We are regularly invited to professional networking events as well as team building activities. We also have access to company sports teams which allow us to get active and have some fun with our colleagues. As a travel agency, we also organise social trips for employees and their friends or family. This allows us to bond outside of the workplace and get to know each other better.
