  • My role is a manufacturing support function, where we assist the production line when needed with an overall goal to achieve efficiency in production by problem solving and improving processes.

  • I have learnt many skills so far, particularly communicative skills - this has helped not only onsite but in personal life.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed the programme thoroughly so far, there have been highs and lows but those are the moments I have learnt the most. I think the best part is you're being paid to learn.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has been well structured in the majority but there have been times where it could have been improved. This may be due to lack of resources at times.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support from employers is very good. The guidance is always there if needed and I truly believe our manager would do whatever they could to support us.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider has at times been lacking support or structure, however in general it has been good.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • There are aspects to our learnings that have proved useful in the workplace and I feel have benefited from.

  • There are many extra-curricular activities to get involved with such as volunteering, careers events and social/professional activities.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • From my experience so far, GE have been very supportive and care about their apprentices.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GE Aerospace?
  • Do as much research as you can prior to applying so that they can see you're serious about joining and would bring value to the business.
