My role is a manufacturing support function, where we assist the production line when needed with an overall goal to achieve efficiency in production by problem solving and improving processes.
I have learnt many skills so far, particularly communicative skills - this has helped not only onsite but in personal life.
I have enjoyed the programme thoroughly so far, there have been highs and lows but those are the moments I have learnt the most. I think the best part is you're being paid to learn.
The programme has been well structured in the majority but there have been times where it could have been improved. This may be due to lack of resources at times.
The support from employers is very good. The guidance is always there if needed and I truly believe our manager would do whatever they could to support us.
Our training provider has at times been lacking support or structure, however in general it has been good.
There are aspects to our learnings that have proved useful in the workplace and I feel have benefited from.
There are many extra-curricular activities to get involved with such as volunteering, careers events and social/professional activities.
Yes
From my experience so far, GE have been very supportive and care about their apprentices.
Do as much research as you can prior to applying so that they can see you're serious about joining and would bring value to the business.
