  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a customer service assistant. I am the first person the customer will see in branch. My role covers a variety of tasks such as taking cash deposits and withdrawals, booking appointments, taking on enquiries and educating customers on our online services. I also run the mobile branch.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I would say I have learnt a lot regarding the financial industry. I have been able to develop my customer service skills to a high and professional standard.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Sometimes I find it quite stressful fitting in my studies with my work. I enjoy the content that I’m learning about, it helps me understand my job better. It helps me recognise the skills I’m using each day.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well, but I have found it very difficult to fit my studies in at branch. This is due to understaffing.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • It’s been very difficult to get time to complete my studies during working hours. My manager has tried her best and has planned time in for me, but sometimes that isn’t possible.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider has given me a lot of support during my course. He helps break things down so I can understand them more and achieve my goals.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I’d say my qualification really boosts my knowledge of my field and this makes me perform better. I understand our product and processes in detail so I’m confident in talking about them.

  • As far as I am aware, there is not any activity like this available.

  • I like how they encourage you to progress in your career and have a strong focus on learning.

  • Definitely try to showcase ways you have tried to self develop in previous experiences.
