  • My job consists of training all week with 3 days being practical training in a workshop and 2 days spent doing degree work.

  • I have learnt lots of new skills such as PLC and developed some skills that I had done in school such as machining.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support I receive from my employer is excellent as they are always available to answer and questions and will support me as much as they can.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There are occasions where I feel BMet leaves us in the dark about some situations however, in general the support is good and I feel confident in my apprenticeship

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that the qualification I am working towards has improved my skills and made me feel more confident when I go into my placements in the workplace in September.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of opportunities to get involved in extra curricular activities such as football, netball, newsletter team, SharePoint team and charity champions.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I think that it is a very good opportunity to get the same qualification as a person that goes to university whilst working for an excellent company and learning all the practical skills that are needed to have a successful career in the industry.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • I would advise that applicants research the company and the specific plant that you apply to and ensure that you are confident to do a presentation as BMW is very keen on people being confident speakers and knowing how to do a good presentation.
