  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I’m a head chef in a iconic London pub. I have a team of 14 chefs, with 3 apprentice , we do 1.7million on food sales. My day to day is to train/coach my team for do a better job and for them to fell more confident. Control food safety and quality. Make sure w shave enough food stock.

  • Yes. I have development tema management, ways of communication with diferente styles.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have completed level 2&3 on the past. When I had the opportunity to start level 4 I said yes, as this is a amazing opportunity for you to learn and work at the same time

  • Very organised. I got all Information from the course on day one and the expectation.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager is very knee with apprenticeship, we provide us the time to learn and engage the team to start is.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • He is always on the other side of the phone. Was we have 4 apprentice in the kitchen we always try to accommodate the best items for everyone. He is very supportive, super positive. Also flexible if something happen. During is visit on Christmas period it good so busy and he start helped us. So we all very appreciate ia job and he always have a nice world to tell us.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Yes feel this will help me along the way. Since level 2 I have improved as a chef. With level 3 I moved for this bigger pub. Now level 4 I believe it will give me the management skill for getting even better to run a bigger team. My skills and confidence as improved

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, M&b is very i to social. We always have km/am awards. The is futebol day for city division. Gm awards. Menthal health workshops. During lockdown we did a running event as everyone just added they miles to it. With M&b there is something always somewhere

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • On M&b you are not treat as another employee, they respect you and they know your mane. The OD goes to the kitchen and talk to a the chefs, she respect your job and appreciate it. They give you all the training for you to do your job. Everyone around you will support you wants you succeed. We celebrate success! We support each other! There is always a opportunity to everyone, they have a carrear partway. You start as a kp and you can the a head chef!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mitchells & Butlers?
  • Gig big on Mable and in all the benefits that the company offer you. Get involved on the company events, meet people, know people and have fun! Set clear expectations for what you want and how you wanna be! Talk you your manager, area manager, district training. They are here to help you! Don’t look at this as a challenge look at them as a opportunities!
