  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • o Update People Net regularly and maintain in line with Department and Company Service Level agreements. o Process contract and position changes including benefit deductions. o Process and monitor management, maternity/paternity, leavers and benefit scheme leaver administration. o Be accountable for ensuring all employee data post joining is input accurately and on time and complies with M&B personal data retention guidelines (GDPR) o Prepare and issue offer letters and contracts including all relevant contractual documentation and log/indicate progress on People Net for all employee’s post onboarding. o Accurately use external websites such as Docusign /EDM in line with company policy. o Process all leavers timely and efficiently in line with all payroll cut off dates and liaising with all relevant departments. o Chase outstanding unsigned or incomplete documentation as necessary on a monthly basis. o Liaise with onboarding teams, Compensation and Benefits team and with Payroll for all related queries tailoring responses directly with RBM’s, Managers and employees. o Ensure that all completed documentation is accurately identified prior to scanning via EDM (online date management system)

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Skills and knowledge continue to develop on a daily basis - enabling me to embrace more complex HR matters. The skills that I have gained through my apprenticeship further enhance my ability to perform and provide support to the standard that is expected of me as an employee of Mitchells & Butlers.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The CIPD apprenticeship programme is well constructed and provides the correct level of support to its learners. Assignments that are set out in advance allow me to focus more on time management, planning and how to balance my learning with my job role. At this point of my apprenticeship, I feel confident in my ability to achieve targets and meet set deadlines.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The CIPD apprenticeship programme is well constructed and provides the correct level of support to its learners. Assignments that are set out in advance allow me to focus more on time management, planning and how to balance my learning with my job role. At this point of my apprenticeship, I feel confident in my ability to achieve targets and meet set deadlines.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is supportive of my need for progression and are able to see the long term benefits that this qualification will bring to the company. I am allocated sufficient time each week to complete assignment, tasks. attend workshops etc in order to stay on target and meet my off the job hours.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive regular support from my training provider- the trainers that I have worked with throughout are highly responsive and no matter how trivial the query they will respond promptly with the required guidance and or advise.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Every day presents a new challenge which means applying a different method of problem solving and analysing in order to find the most appropriate solution. As the role is relatively new to me, I am continuously learning new processes and methods of problem resolution which are further supported by the knowledge gained through my apprenticeship. (Policy framework, legislation, and ethical behaviour) In my opinion, I am performing well within my role and meeting a standard of work which is required by Mitchells & Butlers.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Currently, I am not involved with any extra- curricular activities outside of my role however as my confidence grows through the completion of the course I hope to attend professional networking events to widen my HR network and expand my expertise.
