  • The skills I’ve learned through my qualification has allowed me to create for effective and deeper reports that answer any questions stakeholders have or may have in the future. • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • A lot of social activists are available as an apprentice particularly at the beginning of the course. For a period of time you will work closely with any new apprentices and placement students doing things separate from your usual role. This helps massively with creating long lasting relationships with people that are going through the same process that you might not normally come into contact with in work

  • 9a. Would you recommend Newcastle Building Society to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It’s a business that cares a lot about the staff and supports them in anyway they can. Whether this be through looking for further development opportunities or just listening to staff members suggestions you feel that you can have an impact on the way the business is run while also having a great place to develop your skills, knowledge and experience.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Newcastle Building Society?
  • Make use of any resources available to you and take any opportunity. This may be talking to the people like the workplace mentor or something like spending a day in a different part of the business to get a better idea of how that function works. Also if you can think of any ways things can be done differently don’t be afraid to speak up as the culture in the business is definitely one of growing together and making useful changes where possible
