I look after branch operations for the vehicles at our branch. I look after the drivers making sure that the compliance is done correctly on a daily basis and any defects for vehicles are recorded and logged correctly. I am responsible for orders being delivered on time and correctly for the customer
I have developed more in my experience with communicating with others which the apprenticeship course helped with. I have done many online courses to ensure my knowledge with transport and its operations are up to date and I can ensure the vehicles are compliant on the road. I have learnt in my new role how to engage with my staff.
I enjoy the fact that everyday is different and I always try to find a solution which suits best for the company. The team are also on board and know what I expect to achieve and continue to work successfully. I enjoy what I am doing as I take pride in my work
The programme was very good in the fact that we were all given an introduction from the rest of the class so you got to know everyone on a personal level. The training was good as we given all of the information required to complete it. If I was unsure [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was able to offer support on the phone or as a one to one.
I receive great support from my manager as they give me full backing. The HR team are always on hand to offer further support if required. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] my mentor would always check in to see if I needed any help with anything and my manager was always happy with me to take time out to complete the course.
I received so much help from my tutor in relation to one to one support. I was sent documents to help with some of the stages of the course I was struggling with. We also received support from others in the class as we worked together well as a team.
The qualification has helped me gain a better understanding of the customers needs and also what the company expects. I had to communicate with others on the course and feedback information which helped me become a better communicator with other and not shy away from speaking to others with information.
Our company holds many social events that we can all get involved in on a regular basis such as conference and zoom calls to engage everyone. We are also kept up to date with whats going on within the company with frequent emails and notifications. The company also holds charity events for us all to participate in

Its a great working environment where it feels like you are working as part of a big family as well as being a closely knit team. There is always opportunities for you to progress within the company and you can always venture to other parts of the business and take on other roles.
I would advise others to gain an understanding of what Travis Perkins supplies as a company and what it does for the customers. I would say that working here is more than just a job so be passionate about what you are about as a person and why you are applying.
